Advance payments for made-to-order and commissioned work

What the advance payment means

For commissioned work, we buy material and reserve workshop capacity for the approved piece. The first payment is an advance part-payment of the agreed price. It is applied to your order; it is not an extra fee.

The advance confirms a binding order once both sides approve the written specification. The parties expressly agree that it is part performance of that order, not earnest money that by itself gives either side a right to withdraw under Article 103 of the Egyptian Civil Code. The cancellation rights we give below still apply, in addition to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Before we request payment

You receive in writing:

  • the dimensions, material, finish, hardware and included work;
  • the total VAT-inclusive price;
  • the advance amount and remaining balance;
  • the estimated lead time and delivery/installation terms; and
  • any item specifically described as custom-made to your requirements.

Nothing is charged and production does not begin until you approve that record. The initial consultation and Greater Cairo survey are free even if you decide not to proceed.

Payment schedule

Stage Amount due
Consultation, survey and written specification No charge
Written specification approved 50% advance payment
Piece complete and available for inspection, before dispatch or installation Remaining 50%

If a project needs a different schedule, every percentage, amount and due date must be written into the quotation and approved before payment. Silence or a telephone conversation does not change the schedule.

We issue the tax document and payment receipt required for the transaction. The advance, VAT treatment and remaining amount must be recorded according to the accountant-approved ETA workflow; staff must not improvise the tax treatment.

How to pay

Until the online deposit flow has passed payment and accounting acceptance, advance payments are arranged by bank transfer or in person by appointment. We send a written request identifying the quotation, amount, VAT treatment and payment destination, and confirm receipt after cleared funds arrive.

The ordinary website checkout takes full payment for standard products. It must not describe a full product payment as a commissioned-work advance.

Changes after approval

Before starting a chargeable change, we give you a written change order showing the price difference and any effect on timing. A change is not approved merely because it was discussed. If you decline it, the last approved specification continues.

If you cancel before delivery

Contact us promptly. We use the time the written cancellation reaches us, not the time somebody later opens it.

Stage reached when cancellation arrives What happens
Production and procurement have not started We return the advance in full.
Material has been irreversibly ordered/cut or work has started We return the advance less the documented, reasonable cost already committed to this order.
Piece is complete We show the actual committed cost and discuss delivery, modification or another practical solution before calculating any refund.

There is no separate cancellation penalty. Any deduction must be itemised with evidence, must relate to this order, and cannot exceed the advance already paid. Recoverable material, avoided work and any amount recovered by reusing or reselling material are not charged to you. We return the undisputed balance promptly by the original payment method.

This cancellation promise is more favourable than simply treating the approved custom order as non-cancellable. It does not turn a conforming made-to-order piece into a standard product carrying a no-reason return right after delivery.

If we cancel or are materially late

If we cancel after accepting the order for a reason within our control, we return everything paid. If an unreasonable delay defeats the purpose of the order and you cancel after giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it, we also return everything paid.

Defective or non-conforming work

The custom-made exception applies only to a piece that conforms to the approved specification. It never removes remedies for a piece that is defective, damaged, incomplete, unsafe or different from what was agreed. We repair, replace or refund as required by Egyptian consumer law, without charging the customer for collection or correction.

The Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency states that the ordinary 14-day no-reason return has an exception for goods made to specifications chosen by the consumer when they conform to those specifications, while defective goods retain the statutory remedy route.
